With support from the Dean’s office as well as Wharton Doctoral Programs and GAPSA, the Wharton Society for the Advancement of Women in Business Academia (WSAWBA), a group of Wharton PhD students, is once again coming together to organize the fifth annual WSAWBA-led “Women in Business Academia” conference. Date, location, and agenda coming soon. Stay tuned!
The main objective of this one-day conference is to bring together doctoral students and faculty across disciplines (and from other universities) to engage in a constructive dialogue over their identities as scholars. Presentations and panels throughout the day led by faculty and doctoral students alike will address topics like successfully navigating the academic job market, seeking formal and informal mentors in academia, managing work/life boundaries, and understanding the day-to-day as a professor—all while highlighting research produced by students and faculty in our field. Furthermore, over meals, coffee breaks and a cocktail hour, students will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with faculty and each other to further promote a collegial environment among academics. All are welcome.
We hope that you will be able to join us!
